Chinese Pre-Wedding
Hanfu Photography in Singapore
Thoughtfully styled wedding portraits inspired by Chinese aesthetics, historical dress, and timeless romance.
A timeless way to say: this is us.
Your pre-wedding photographs are more than a wedding tradition — they are the beginning of your family's story.
Whether you are drawn to the elegance of hanfu, the symbolism of traditional Chinese attire, or a desire for something more distinctive than a conventional wedding photoshoot, our sessions are thoughtfully designed to celebrate your connection through beauty, cultural heritage, and a shared experience that feels both meaningful and memorable.
With personalised styling and expert guidance throughout, we create timeless imagery that captures both the beauty of traditional aesthetics and the unique bond you share.
Why choose a Chinese
pre-wedding photoshoot?
For couples who value tradition, it offers a gentle way to preserve cultural roots without feeling rigid or overly formal. Today’s Chinese aesthetics go beyond heavy symbolism; they can be reimagined into something refined, elegant, and deeply beautiful — balancing auspicious meaning with a modern sense of taste and individuality.
It also brings contrast and depth to your wedding journey. While your actual ceremony may be shaped by western gowns and suits, a Chinese pre-wedding shoot becomes a different chapter entirely — one that feels more expressive, artistic, and quietly cinematic.
Beyond aesthetics, it is an experience meant to be shared. There is something unforgettable about seeing each other transformed in historical-inspired styling — from flowing hanfu to scholarly silhouettes — as if stepping into another time together. It invites play, curiosity, and connection in a way few experiences can.
More than photographs, it becomes a memory you carry forward — not just of how you looked, but of how it felt to discover a different world together.

Our Process
-
It all starts with getting to know you. Through a short questionnaire, we’ll take note of your preferences, measurements, and get a sense of your unique personality. We’ll then send you a curated selection of hanfu styles that will bring out your best, and recommend shoot locations to suit the preferred outfits.
-
Once the session details have been finalised, a deposit will be required to secure the booking. We’ll get in touch closer to the shoot date to send you more information on the schedule and how to prepare for the experience.
-
Makeup and hair will be meticulously done on set before we dress you in the chosen outfits. During the shoot, we’ll coach you on posing and work with you to capture your best angles. Sufficient time has been planned for you to get comfortable and interact with a variety of props and accessories.
-
You will receive the full-resolution colour-edited images within two to three weeks of your session. You can then select more images for fine-editing, where we apply industry standard retouching techniques to refine skin and facial features. These polished images will be presented with options for albums and fine-art prints.

Hanfu is the traditional clothing of the Han Chinese, with designs rooted in historical styles worn for thousands of years. Unlike drama or cosplay costumes, which take creative liberties with the design in order to suit a character or story, hanfu is considered ethnic dress and strives to convey historical accuracy. It represents cultural heritage rather than simply being a piece in a creative production.
That being said, hanfus are increasingly being used in cosplay productions or period dramas these days if cultural authenticity is valued by the creators. -
Absolutely! Our team will provide a lot of guidance and posing directions to help you look elegant in front of the camera. You’ll also have a variety of props to interact with so that you don’t get that awkward feeling of not knowing what to do with your hands. The best thing is, if you’re camera shy, many beautiful poses can be done with you looking away from the camera to ease you into the photoshoot.
-
Shoulder-length hair will be ideal for ladies. The shortest length we can work with is chin-length hair (not layered), as your real hair will be wrapped around the wigs and hairpieces to create a more natural look.
We will suggest a fashion style of photography incorporating hanfu into in modern fusion look if you have very short hair or don’t suit traditional styling.
For men, period-appropriate hats and headgear will be provided. -
Yes! We work with professional makeup artists who understand the Chinese aesthetic and can do a wide variety of looks for clients from all age groups. If you have a preferred hair or makeup style, please let us know during the consultation process. Hanfus are also included in the package rate.

Absolutely. Many of our clients are travellers looking for a unique cultural experience during their time in Singapore.
Whether you are interested in a timeless studio portrait session or a photoshoot featuring Singapore’s gardens, heritage districts, and iconic scenery, we are happy to customise the experience according to your preferences and travel plans.
Our hanfu photography experiences are designed to be welcoming even for first-time wearers, and you are welcome to try hanfu even if you are non-Chinese.

Yes, we offer both studio and outdoor hanfu photography in Singapore. Outdoor sessions can create a beautiful and immersive atmosphere, especially at gardens, heritage districts, and scenic locations inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics.
However, if you are visiting Singapore for the first time or staying for only a short period, we generally recommend a studio session for greater comfort and reliability. Singapore’s heat and humidity can feel quite intense when wearing layered hanfu, particularly during longer outdoor shoots.
As weather conditions can also change unexpectedly, outdoor sessions may occasionally need to be postponed or moved indoors in the event of heavy rain. For this reason, studio sessions are often the more comfortable option for large groups, families with young children, or travellers on a tight schedule.
